On the afternoon of August 24, heavy rain and thunderstorms occurred in Nam Cuong commune, causing significant damage to houses and power infrastructure.

According to initial statistics, the whole commune has 17 households with their roofs blown off, with damage concentrated in the villages of Na Ang, Ban Lom, Ban Tun, Na Meo and Ban O.

The thunderstorm on the afternoon of August 24 broke 12 high voltage power poles.

In addition, the storm also broke 12 high-voltage electric poles, 3 poles were tilted in Na Meo and Na Lien villages; some trees were also broken on the traffic road through the commune center... The total damage is estimated at about 700 million VND.

Immediately after the disaster occurred, the People's Committee of Nam Cuong commune directed the inspection of the scene, mobilized local forces and people to quickly overcome, repair, and evacuate people and property to a safe place; cut down fallen trees, and ensure smooth traffic. At the same time, coordinated with the Electricity sector to cut off the entire power system in the affected area, stretched warning lines, and mobilized human resources to repair damage in order to quickly restore power supply and stabilize people's lives.
