Dong Nai directed to preserve 100-year-old villa

On the afternoon of September 26, a representative of the Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee Office announced that the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee had decided to keep the 100-year-old villa along the Dong Nai River.

Accordingly, at the meeting on the same morning, after listening to reports and discussions from relevant units, the Standing Committee of Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee decided to retain the villa project of Ong Phu's house (also known as the villa of Governor Vo Ha Thanh) to preserve and promote its cultural, historical and architectural values.

The Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee has assigned the Party Committee of the Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee to direct relevant agencies to preserve and promote the cultural, historical and architectural values ​​of the villa. At the same time, it is necessary to have solutions to implement the Dong Nai riverside road according to the proposed plan, ensuring compliance with legal regulations.

Previously, Mr. Nguyen Hong An, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dong Nai province, said that the unit wanted to preserve the villa of Governor Vo Ha Thanh. However, to do this, the People's Committee of Dong Nai province should buy the 100-year-old villa and hand it over to the management agency to carry out the conservation work.

The ancient villa of Governor Vo Ha Thanh was built in the early 20th century and completed in 1924.
