Even before the main Hung Kings Commemoration Day in 2024, crowds of people flocked to Hung Temple ( Phu Tho province ), causing prolonged congestion on the path leading to the Upper Temple. To prevent overcrowding and pushing, security forces had to set up barriers.
According to observations by Dan Viet reporters, although there are still 4 days until the main Hung Kings Commemoration Day 2024, this morning (April 14th), a large number of pilgrims flocked to the Hung Temple to attend the festival.
Many visitors arrived last night to be able to attend the commemoration ceremony for National Ancestor Lac Long Quan and offer incense to Ancestress Au Co this morning.
From early morning, many groups of tourists had already arrived at the foot of Nghia Linh mountain.
As midday approached, more and more people from the surrounding area and tourists from all over flocked to the Hung Temple festival. The image shows a dense crowd of people filling the path leading up to the Upper Temple around 10 a.m.
The high number of visitors to the Hung Temple festival has caused congestion on the road leading to the Upper Temple. The historical site and the festival organizing committee have increased staff to assist visitors.
The organizers had to set up a "soft barrier" consisting of police officers and security personnel to direct traffic and prevent overcrowding.
The youth of Phu Tho province mobilized hundreds of young union members to promote environmental hygiene, guide tourists, assist the elderly, children, and people with disabilities, and collect garbage at all locations within the historical site.
Everyone was radiant, sincerely offering incense, flowers, and offerings to the Hung Kings, praying for health, peace, and happiness for their families.
The children and grandchildren helped support the elderly women as they slowly ascended to the Upper Temple.
According to the festival organizers, this year's Hung Kings Commemoration Day - Hung Temple Festival is expected to attract approximately 4 million visitors. The entire police force, security guards, and volunteers have been mobilized and deployed at various points, especially along the main routes to the temples, to ensure order and prevent people from climbing through the forest. Today, the number of visitors has increased significantly, and checkpoints have been promptly established to prevent a localized surge of people heading towards the Upper Temple. Police and volunteer youth continuously disseminate information and remind people to temporarily stop at the public square and not proceed to the temples to reduce congestion, avoid pushing and shoving, and prioritize the elderly and children.
