Binh Thuan Tourism: When the brand is affirmed

Binh Thuan tourism, with its blue sea, white sand, and golden sunshine, has expanded its reach, becoming a safe, friendly, and trustworthy destination for tourists from all over the country and abroad. Diverse tourism products, Binh Thuan boasts a mild climate with warm sunshine year-round, a 192km long coastline (one of the five provinces with the longest coastlines in Vietnam), numerous beautiful beaches, and many famous nature reserves and cultural relics, such as Ong Mountain, Ta Cu Mountain, Phu Quy Island Marine Reserve, and Cu Lao Cau Island with its rich biodiversity. Binh Thuan boasts famous and distinctive landscapes such as the Mui Ne sand dunes, Bau Trang, Ke Ga Cape, Suoi Tien (Fairy Stream), Thac Ba Waterfall, and the Seven-Colored Rock Beach, as well as diverse human resources like the Po Sah Inu Cham Tower, Duc Thanh School, Van Thuy Tu, Dinh Thay Thim, and Co Thach Pagoda. Over the years, Binh Thuan has identified itself as a tourist destination, attracting visitors with various types of tourism such as: marine sports tourism, high-end resort tourism, cultural and festival tourism, spiritual tourism…; Binh Thuan's tourism has made significant progress. Besides beach resort tourism, outdoor activities, entertainment, and sightseeing of coastal tourist areas and attractions, religious tourism through traditional festivals has attracted a large number of tourists, especially domestic tourists during summer, holidays, and weekends. Binh Thuan has also successfully promoted agricultural tourism, forest-sea-sand dune ecological tourism, MICE tourism (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions), and community tourism… attracting a considerable number of visitors, especially in Phan Thiet, La Gi, Ham Thuan Nam, Tuy Phong, and Phu Quy. In particular, the Phu Quy Island tourist route is attracting a large number of visitors to explore and experience. Recently, Binh Thuan has developed several new tourist products and attractions such as: NovaWorld beach and amusement park, Wonderland water park, adventure entertainment area in the Centara complex, agricultural tourism, the Binh Thuan Provincial Party Committee's base during the resistance war against the US… contributing to diversifying tourism products and attracting more tourists. Areas producing vegetables, flowers, ornamental plants, dragon fruit farms, fish sauce production facilities, seafood processing, and handicraft production… are encouraged and supported, contributing to better serving the province's tourism development needs. The tourism accommodation system in the province continues to develop, with increasingly high quality. The province currently has 597 operating accommodation establishments with a total of 19,096 rooms. In addition, there are 315 tourist villas and 1,019 tourist apartments; and 22 units operating international and domestic travel services. The current workforce of tour guides comprises 118 people, including 31 international guides, 51 domestic guides, and 36 local guides.

Attracting Tourists: Binh Thuan's tourism products have become increasingly attractive and diverse, with a continuously developing and high-quality system of tourist accommodation facilities attracting both domestic and international tourists. In 2023, Binh Thuan welcomed approximately 8.3 million visitors, including about 220,000 international tourists. The number of tourists visiting the province increased by an average of 16.28% per year, with international tourists increasing by an average of 2.07 times per year; domestic tourists increased by an average of 14.8% per year. To date, Binh Thuan tourism has established the Mui Ne - Phan Thiet tourism brand on the world tourism map, being selected and recognized as an ideal destination by many prestigious magazines such as: Mui Ne is one of the 10 best tourist beaches in the world (Bounce); Mui Ne is one of the 10 most beautiful beaches in Vietnam (Forbes magazine; Lonely Planet travel guide, USA). Many experts believe that, following the success of the 2023 National Tourism Year - Binh Thuan "Green Convergence," tourism in Binh Thuan province has grown both in quality and quantity, becoming one of the most attractive destinations in the country. Although well-received, it must be acknowledged that Binh Thuan's tourism still has certain shortcomings and limitations. Therefore, to elevate and position its tourism brand, Binh Thuan will continue to effectively organize tourism promotion and marketing activities. Digital transformation in tourism destination promotion will also be emphasized, such as building websites and smart tourism portals. In particular, to further enhance the "diversification of tourism services that leverage the province's advantages," in the coming period, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism will continue to advise on and effectively implement the Project "Building Binh Thuan into a national-level marine tourism and sports center," which includes hosting national and international sports competitions. Binh Thuan province is effectively implementing the Phan Thiet City Tour project and the plan for preserving and promoting the value of folk songs, dances, and music of ethnic minorities in conjunction with tourism development for the period 2022-2030. Regularly organizing programs to survey new and attractive tourism products and types, such as new tourist destinations in Mui Ne - Phan Thiet, Bau Trang, Cu Lao Cau, Ham Thuan - Da Mi Lake, Ke Ga - Ham Thuan Nam, Thac Ba - Tanh Linh Waterfall, Phu Quy Island, Ta Nang - Phan Dung tourist route, "mountain and sea" tours, and "mainland and island" tours… Simultaneously, Binh Thuan focuses on protecting, preserving, and developing nature reserves, mangrove forests, and marine protected areas; protecting existing forest areas; planting trees and restoring forests to green barren land and hills, creating a green environment and clean climate to contribute to attracting tourism. Preserving existing natural landscapes; developing other areas with potential for future ecotourism development. Effectively implementing the sustainable ecotourism development project with community participation in the Hon Cau Marine Protected Area.
