Because, boat racing is a traditional community sport and cultural activity. For generations, the people of Hue have maintained the boat racing festival as an occasion to connect the community, practice health, and demonstrate martial spirit. This is not only a water sport but also a cultural symbol associated with the life of residents along the Perfume River.

In Hue alone, this is the 36th time the city has organized a boat race on September 2. This tradition has become a "brand" of Hue.
