'Under the shadow of the national flag', 'Bustling anchovy season' won first prize in the photo contest Fatherland on the shore of the waves

The award ceremony of the 3rd national art photography contest and exhibition "Fatherland on the Shore of Waves" in 2025 was chaired by the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, in coordination with the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, relevant ministries and agencies, and held on the evening of October 16 in Hanoi .

Attending the ceremony were Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Nguyen Trong Nghia; General, Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army Trinh Van Quyet.

Love of homeland and civic responsibility of the photographer

The organizers said that after three seasons, the national art photography contest "Fatherland on the Shore of Waves" has affirmed its own identity and has had a strong influence.

This is not only an art playground but also an activity with profound political and cultural significance, receiving widespread attention and response from all walks of life, especially photography artists.

Many works of high artistic value have strongly expressed the authors' love for their homeland and civic responsibility, and are authentic sources of information, contributing to promoting the image of the country, people, and sacred and beautiful seas and islands of Vietnam to the people at home and international friends.

The contest received 15,770 photos from 3,514 authors from 34 provinces and cities nationwide. Not only did the quantity increase, the quality of the works this year also made significant progress.

Sacred moment 'under the shadow of the national flag'

Through the judging rounds, the jury selected 150 outstanding works to introduce at the exhibition, of which the 22 best works were awarded prizes.

Specifically, the organizing committee awarded a first prize for single photo to author Nguyen Viet Hoang Long ( Quang Ninh ) with the work Under the shadow of the Fatherland's flag and a first prize for photo series to author Nguyen Khac Hao ( Hung Yen ) with the photo series Bustling anchovy season.

There are also 4 second prizes, 6 third prizes, and 10 consolation prizes.

The organizers commented that the winning photos vividly depicted the natural beauty and people of the sea and islands through unique perspectives and emotional moments.

At the same time, it honors the people's spirit of work, creativity, and will to rise up, along with their efforts in preserving and protecting sovereignty, developing the socio-economy, and strengthening national defense and security.

Along with the awarded authors, the organizing committee also awarded certificates of merit from the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission to 8 provinces and cities with outstanding achievements in coordinating the implementation of the contest.

From the results of the 3rd contest "Fatherland on the Shore of Waves" , the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission continues to coordinate with relevant agencies to promote the compilation of bilingual photo books, electronic photo books, virtual reality exhibitions and organize photo exhibitions in provinces and cities.
