Recently, at Long My hamlet, Phuoc Thanh commune, the People's Committee of My Tho city held the launching ceremony of the model "Garbage-free flower route associated with tourism".
Leaders of My Tho city ( Tien Giang province) presented certificates of merit to individuals who contributed to the construction of a garbage-free flower road associated with tourism in Phuoc Thanh commune.
Attending the event were Mr. Trinh Van Loi, Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of My Tho City; Mr. Nguyen Huu Duc, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of My Tho City; Mr. Bui Van Bao, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of My Tho City, along with leaders of the People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of 17 wards and communes and the People of Long My Hamlet.
Within the framework of the launching ceremony of the model "No-waste flower route associated with tourism" in Phuoc Thanh commune, My Tho city, Tien Giang province, delegates participated in planting flowers and trees along the new rural roads.
Accordingly, "The garbage-free flower route associated with tourism" (route 2, belonging to group 6 and group 7, Long My hamlet) is implemented with the following contents: painting with the content of typical tourist attractions of the locality; planting flowers and trees synchronously at households.
The locality also mobilized people to take care of flowers and trees on both sides of the road and preserve them, with more than 30 households participating.
The commune also mobilized people to participate and integrate propaganda on environmental protection, landscape, and traffic safety.
The new rural flower route must ensure the criteria of bright - green - clean - beautiful, such as: planting flowers on both sides of the road, having a lighting system, no trash, no weeds...
On the flower road, there are no illegal banners or billboards, no classified ads posted on lamp posts, etc. The total cost of implementing the model of a garbage-free flower road associated with tourism in Phuoc Thanh commune is 95 million VND from socialized sources.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Bui Van Bao, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of My Tho city, highly appreciated the efforts of the people in groups 6 and 7 who contributed to the locality in creating a spacious and clean landscape; implementing the annual theme of My Tho city, "Comprehensively promoting digital transformation, creating breakthroughs in tourism development".
This garbage-free flower road is one of a series of activities for Phuoc Thanh commune to strive to launch an advanced new rural commune by the end of 2024.
