Recently, in Long My hamlet, Phuoc Thanh commune, the People's Committee of My Tho city organized the launching ceremony of the "Litter-Free Flower Road Model Linked to Tourism ".
Leaders of My Tho city (Tien Giang province) presented certificates of commendation to individuals who contributed to the construction of a litter-free flower-lined road linked to tourism in Phuoc Thanh commune.
Attending the event were Mr. Trinh Van Loi, Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Council of My Tho City; Mr. Nguyen Huu Duc, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of My Tho City; Mr. Bui Van Bao, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of My Tho City, along with leaders of the People's Committees and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees of 17 wards and communes, and the people of Long My hamlet.
As part of the launch ceremony for the "Litter-Free Flower Road Linked to Tourism" model in Phuoc Thanh commune, My Tho city, Tien Giang province, delegates participated in planting flowers and trees along the new rural road.
Accordingly, the "Litter-Free Flower Route Linked to Tourism" (Route No. 2, belonging to Group 6 and Group 7, Long My Hamlet) will be implemented with the following contents: painting murals depicting the distinctive tourist attractions of the locality; and planting flowers and trees uniformly at the homes of local residents.
Local authorities also encouraged residents to take care of and maintain the flowers and trees along the roadside, with more than 30 households participating.
The commune also mobilized the people to participate and integrated propaganda on environmental protection, landscape preservation, and traffic safety.
New rural flower-lined roads must meet the criteria of being bright, green, clean, and beautiful, such as: planting flowers on both sides of the road, having a lighting system, and being free of trash and weeds.
The flower-lined road is free of illegal banners and billboards, and there are no advertisements posted on lampposts… The total cost for implementing the model of a litter-free flower-lined road linked to tourism in Phuoc Thanh commune is 95 million VND, funded through social contributions.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Bui Van Bao, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of My Tho City, highly appreciated the efforts of the people in groups 6 and 7 in contributing to creating a clean and beautiful landscape for the locality; implementing the theme of My Tho City this year: "Comprehensively promoting digital transformation, creating breakthroughs in tourism development".
This litter-free, flower-lined road is one of a series of activities aimed at helping Phuoc Thanh commune strive to achieve the status of an advanced new rural commune by the end of 2024.
