Attending the Vietnam DX Summit 2024 were Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang, Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung, and speakers including senior leaders and experts from relevant ministries and agencies such as the Ministry of Information and Communications, the Ministry of Planning and Investment, the Ministry of Industry and Trade ; and provinces and cities with high growth rates in the digital and green economy.
Artificial intelligence, semiconductors, automotive software, digital transformation, and green transformation will create dual development of the digital economy and the green economy.
Opening the event, Mr. Truong Gia Binh - Chairman of the Vinasa Founding Council and Chairman of the Board of Directors of FPT Group - affirmed that Vietnam and the Asian region are experiencing a remarkable increase in the demand for digital transformation and green transformation. Businesses and organizations are seeking to leverage technology to improve efficiency and create new value. In this context, the Vietnamese Government has outlined its digital transformation orientation for 2024 as: Developing the digital economy with four pillars: Information and Communication Technology (ICT) industry, digitizing economic sectors, digital governance, and digital data, creating momentum for rapid and sustainable economic development.
Mr. Truong Gia Binh - Chairman of the Vinasa Founding Council - Chairman of the Board of Directors of FPT Group, delivered the opening speech at the event.
According to Mr. Truong Gia Binh, in addition to Green Transformation and Digital Transformation, which are inevitable trends, there is also a new transformation - Artificial Intelligence (AI) transformation. The emergence of super AI will create a new workforce - AI engineers - and AI will penetrate all fields.
Furthermore, Mr. Truong Gia Binh noted that the automotive industry is undergoing rapid changes, and Vietnam possesses a crucial advantage: its human resources. "Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung stated that Vietnamese people have a strong aptitude for scientific and technological research, and their mathematical skills are well-suited for working in the IT and semiconductor industries. In reality, the global semiconductor industry is facing a shortage of millions of workers. The CEO of Nvidia once said: 'It's fitting; if Vietnam has 1 million IT workers and that 1 million are converted to semiconductor workers, Vietnam will progress much faster,'" the Chairman of the Vinasa Founding Council affirmed.
Mr. Truong Gia Binh concluded that, in order to exploit the potential of digital transformation and green transformation, creating dual development in both the digital and green economies, Vietnam needs to take the lead in developing the following fields: artificial intelligence, semiconductor chips, and smart electric vehicles in digital and green transformation. Human resources and finances should be focused on these key technology areas.

At the Semiconductor Industry Development Cooperation Workshop held on the morning of May 29, 2024, Mr. Truong Gia Binh - Chairman of the Vinasa Founding Council and Chairman of the Board of Directors of FPT Group - shared the following: Vietnam needs a comprehensive diplomatic strategy for semiconductors to seize this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. FPT will accompany Vinasa and other businesses in the development of the semiconductor industry. Recently, Vinasa established the Semiconductor Industry Development Committee with the aim of gathering experts, businesses, and partners to promote the development of the semiconductor industry in Vietnam through activities such as: Training; Disseminating knowledge; Networking and cooperation; and Advocating and connecting with government agencies at all levels to create incentives for domestic and international investors.
In addition, Mr. Tran Dang Hoa - Chairman of FPT IS - led the panel discussion "Developing Human Resources for Chip and Semiconductor Industries - Challenges and Opportunities". The panel discussion attracted leaders from the Department of Information Technology & Communications Industry - Ministry of Information and Communications, local leaders, and representatives from the Innovation Center to discuss issues related to developing human resources for the semiconductor sector.
