Nearly 1,500 artists participate in the National Music and Dance Festival

On September 26, news from the Department of Performing Arts ( Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism ) said that the second phase of the National Music and Dance Festival - 2024 will take place from September 28 to October 15.

The opening ceremony of the festival will take place on the evening of September 29; the closing ceremony, summary and award ceremony of the festival will take place on the evening of October 15, at the Binh Duong Provincial Convention and Exhibition Center.

The National Music and Dance Festival - 2024 is chaired by the Department of Performing Arts, in coordination with the Vietnam Musicians' Association, the Vietnam Dance Artists' Association, and the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of provinces and cities.

Previously, according to the plan, the National Music and Dance Festival - 2024 was organized in 2 phases: Phase 1 was held in Vinh Phuc province, but was postponed due to storm No. 3; Phase 2 was held from September 29 to October 15 in Binh Duong province.

According to the Department of Performing Arts, the second phase of the National Music and Dance Festival 2024 has the participation of nearly 1,500 artists from 24 units nationwide.

Including professional music and dance art units inside and outside the public sector; music and dance art units of the armed forces; symphony, music, and dance art units inside and outside the public sector nationwide.

Each unit will participate in 1 program or play with a duration of 60-110 minutes, in the following genres: General music and dance, Western art forms (symphony, musical, ballet, vocal drama, Broadway, opera...)

The programs, performances, and plays participating in the festival have themes and content praising the country and people of Vietnam. Many programs and works carry the cultural identities of ethnic groups, regions, and areas, demonstrating the richness and diversity of art.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism awards Gold Medals and Silver Medals to programs and plays associated with creative components of the programs and plays, and Gold Medals and Silver Medals to performances and roles associated with groups of artists or individual performing artists.

In addition, at the request of the Arts Council, the Organizing Committee will award outstanding awards to art directors, program directors, play directors, orchestra conductors, musicians, choreographers, painters, costume designers, lead singers, lead dancers, lead musicians, etc.
