Tet banana prices in Hai Duong are sky-high

Due to the impact of storm No. 3, the scarce supply compared to previous years has caused the price of Tet bananas to increase sharply.

According to a survey by Hai Duong Newspaper reporters, on January 25 (ie 26th of Tet), the common price of Tet bananas is from 150,000 - 370,000 VND/bunch, 2 - 4 times higher than last year's Tet.

The price of each bunch of bananas also depends on shape, size, and odd or even number of bananas.

The reason for the high price of Tet bananas is that the Tet banana growing area in Hai Duong was severely affected by storm No. 3. The supply for the Tet market has become scarcer than in previous years. Many retailers have imported bananas from the Central and Southern regions to serve consumers.

The price of each bunch of bananas depends on many factors such as shape, size, odd or even number of bananas.

The five-fruit tray, including green bananas, is an indispensable part of the Lunar New Year in Vietnam, especially in the Northern provinces. Therefore, despite the high price of bananas for Tet, many people are still willing to spend money to buy beautiful bunches of bananas to serve on the Lunar New Year.
