Gold price today September 6: Breaking the old record again, setting a new peak of 135.4 million

World and domestic gold prices continue to skyrocket and simultaneously set new records.

On the morning of September 6, the price of gold bars at Saigon Jewelry Company - SJC skyrocketed by 1 million VND when buying to 133.9 million VND/tael and selling to 135.4 million VND. Gold bars have broken all old records to record a new peak in history.

Similarly, the price of 4-number-9 gold rings at SJC Company increased by 1 million VND, bringing the buying price to 127.7 million VND and the selling price to 130.2 million VND. This is also a new record price for gold rings at SJC.

The world gold price jumped to a new record of 3,585.3 USD, an increase of more than 33 USD after one day. Converted according to Vietcombank exchange rate, the world gold price is equivalent to 114.5 million VND/tael (excluding taxes and fees). Currently, SJC gold bars maintain a level nearly 21 million VND/tael higher than the world price.

Precious metals surged after a report showed a weak US labor market. Specifically, a report from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics on September 5 painted a bleak picture of the employment situation. Data showed that US job growth slowed sharply in August, with only 22,000 jobs added. This figure was significantly lower than the 75,000 expected by economists polled by Dow Jones. The unemployment rate rose to 4.3%, as expected. In addition, June's figures were also revised down by 13,000 jobs, while July's was revised up slightly by 6,000 but still at a low of 79,000 jobs. These figures further confirmed many people's predictions that the US Federal Reserve (Fed) will cut interest rates at its upcoming meeting. The market is almost certain that the Fed will cut interest rates by 0.25%, and there is even a 12% chance of a 0.5% cut./.
