Muong ethnic people in Thai Hoc village (Cam Tu commune) often wear traditional costumes.
Coming to Thai Hoc village (Cam Tu commune), where 90% of the population is Muong ethnic group, we can see that the cultural identity of the Muong ethnic group here is still being preserved and promoted effectively by the local government as well as the villagers.
Leading us to the cultural house, which is also where the Muong ethnic art troupes are practicing, Deputy Secretary of the Party Cell, Head of Thai Hoc Village Cao Thi Van happily said: The cultural identity of the Muong ethnic group in the village is a priceless asset, a link connecting the past, present and future, at the same time creating motivation to improve the spiritual and cultural life of the people and promote the socio-economic development of the village. Therefore, in recent times, the village front work committee has flexibly implemented many solutions such as propaganda, encouraging people to weave and wear traditional ethnic costumes when participating in events such as weddings, local cultural festivals; establishing art troupes, gong clubs and organizing folk games such as pushing sticks, tug of war, stirring the bamboo beds, jumping bamboo poles... so that people can participate in practicing and performing. At the same time, focus on implementing the movement "All people unite to build a cultural life" associated with preserving and promoting traditional cultural values. Strengthen propaganda and mobilization work, create all favorable conditions for people to participate in activities to preserve and promote the traditional cultural values of their ethnic group... Therefore, up to now, most of the cultural identities of the Muong ethnic group here have been preserved and promoted in daily life.
Not only Thai Hoc village, but most villages in Cam Tu commune also pay special attention to preserving and promoting the traditional cultural values of ethnic minorities. Head of the Department of Culture and Society of Cam Tu commune Phung The Tai shared: In the commune, the Muong ethnic group accounts for over 70%, so the commune always focuses on promoting the cultural identity of the Muong ethnic group and considers this a solid spiritual foundation to promote socio-economic development. Accordingly, the commune has mobilized people to establish cultural clubs, bring cultural education into schools, and promote cultural tourism. Cultural and sports institutions such as cultural houses and stadiums have been invested in and built, creating favorable conditions for people to develop healthy cultural and sports movements. Along with that, the commune promotes the movement "All people unite to build a cultural life", attracting a large number of people to participate and effectively implement. From there, contribute to building a healthy cultural lifestyle, enriching the spiritual and cultural life of the people.
Not only focusing on preserving cultural identity and building a healthy cultural life, over the years, all levels, sectors and localities in the province have also paid special attention to the restoration, embellishment and promotion of the value of historical and cultural relics, becoming an important resource to promote tourism development. Among them are a number of key historical and cultural relics such as: Lam Kinh National Special Historical Relic Site, Ba Trieu Temple National Special Historical Relic Site, Dong Co Temple, Vet Communal House, Tran Khat Chan Temple... These relics, after being invested in and embellished, have become unique cultural tourist destinations, serving the spiritual and cultural life, attracting visitors from inside and outside the province.
Mr. Nguyen Van Tinh, Head of the Management Board of the Ba Trieu Temple National Special Historical Relic Site, said: Historical and cultural relics are invaluable assets in the nation's long-standing cultural heritage treasure, and are the most profound evidence reflecting the cultural characteristics, the past origins and the heroic tradition of fighting to build and defend the country. The relic site has historical, cultural and ancient architectural values, a place to commemorate the national heroine Trieu Thi Trinh with her indomitable spirit against foreign invaders. Since being recognized as a special national relic site in 2014 and receiving attention from the State for investment in restoration and embellishment, the relic site has become more and more attractive to tourists to visit and sightsee. In order to attract tourists, the management board has strengthened the connection of tourism products at the relic site with tourism products at other tourist areas and destinations in the province; At the same time, promote the development of tourism products such as cultural - spiritual tourism associated with eco-tourism, resort activities, entertainment, historical tourism, festivals, creating new experiences for tourists.
It can be affirmed that cultural heritages are always an important driving force to promote the socio-economic development of the province. However, due to the impact of the market economy, along with cultural exchange and integration, the preservation and promotion of cultural heritages are facing many difficulties and challenges. Some traditional cultural values such as festivals, customs, crafts, etc. of ethnic minorities have been and are being lost, even at risk of being lost. Moreover, Thanh Hoa is a locality with a large number of relics, with 1,535 historical - cultural relics and scenic spots that have been ranked and inventoried for protection. Meanwhile, the funding source for the restoration and embellishment of relics is still limited compared to the demand. Therefore, there are times when the preservation and restoration of historical - cultural relics are not timely, leading to many relics being degraded. To further promote the value of cultural heritage, more synchronous solutions are needed from all levels, sectors and localities.
