The Google Year In Search 2024 list includes seven key topics: “Most Popular Search Trends”, “AI Tools”, “Movies”, “ Travel ”, “Concerts”, “Skills”, and “How-to”. This list reflects the trends and information that Vietnamese people were most interested in and searched for over the past year.

Four-yearly tournaments such as the Euro, Asian Cup, Olympics, Copa America, and Paralympics dominated the top trending search topics, demonstrating the high level of interest in sports among Vietnamese people.

“Gemini”, “Viggle”, “Character AI”, and “ChatGPT” are prominent AI tools under the topic “AI Tools”. The diversity in search queries reflects the growing interest of users in exploring new AI tools, in addition to established names.

Among the top 10 AI tools on the list, users are increasingly interested in AI tools for creating 3D videos or video content, such as Viggle, PixVerse, and Luma.

This is also quite similar to the 2024 Report on Vietnam's Digital Economy by Google, Bain, and Temasek, which clearly states the increasing trend of downloading AI-related applications for image editing or video content creation in Vietnam.

For international destinations, "Malaysia Tourism" and "Europe Tourism" are two keywords that made it onto the list, ranking in the top 1 and top 6 respectively.

In the "How-to" section, keywords such as "How to make chip chip candy," "How to make flowers with velour wire," and "How to get glowing facial skin" ranked in the top three positions, followed by "How to get a national ID card for children under 14" and "How to get an ID card for children under 6."

2024 was the year Vietnam launched several campaigns to issue national identity cards, witnessed many reforms, and from July 1st, 2024, children aged 6 to 14 were allowed to register for identity cards. This led to a sharp increase in searches related to this particular topic.

Following the "blind bag" trend that's sweeping Vietnam, many users are searching for "how to make a blind bag," causing this topic to rise to eighth place on the "How-to" list.
