Based on the actual water level, the Hanoi Steering Committee for Flood and Storm Prevention and Control also ordered the level 2 flood warning to be lifted on the Duong River in Long Bien district and Dong Anh and Gia Lam districts.

Previously, on September 12, the Hanoi Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Control ordered the withdrawal of alert level 2 on the Red River in Son Tay town and the districts of Ba Vi, Phuc Tho, Dan Phuong, and Me Linh.

The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said that the flood on the Red River (through Hanoi) is receding. In the next 12-24 hours, the flood on the Red River in Hanoi will drop below alert level 1.

However, the process of flood drainage and reduction on the Red River system is likely to be slow, so flooding will continue for many days in low-lying areas, low-lying areas along rivers, and alluvial areas outside the main dike in the provinces and cities of Hanoi, Bac Giang , Bac Ninh, Thai Nguyen, Ninh Binh, Nam Dinh, Thai Binh, Ha Nam, and Hai Duong.

High flood levels lasting for many days can cause riverbank dykes to overflow, dyke and embankment landslides; seriously affecting vulnerable locations along rivers in Hanoi, Ha Nam , Nam Dinh, Hai Duong, Hung Yen, Thai Binh, Ninh Binh. There is a risk of landslides on steep slopes in mountainous areas of the North.

Mr. Le Hong Son, Permanent Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee, said that by the afternoon of September 12, functional forces had evacuated and relocated about 73,700 people in areas at risk of being affected by rain and floods.

According to reports from districts, towns and cities, damage caused by rain and floods after the storm injured two people; property damage is being counted.
