Hanoi is ready to ensure the high school graduation exam takes place safely and effectively.

In about a week, along with more than 1 million candidates nationwide, 108,573 candidates from Hanoi will take the 2024 High School Graduation Examination.

With a large number of candidates, accounting for 1/10 of the total number of candidates nationwide, the Steering Committee for the High School Graduation Examination in Hanoi City promptly implemented its tasks, directing the Steering Committees in localities to prepare the necessary conditions in terms of facilities and personnel, determined to organize the examination safely and conveniently, ensuring maximum benefits for the candidates.

Thorough and comprehensive review

The 2024 high school graduation exam took place over two days, June 27-28, with five subjects: Literature, Mathematics, Foreign Language, Natural Sciences Combination (Physics, Chemistry, Biology), and Social Sciences Combination (History, Geography, Civic Education ). Candidates could choose one of the two combined subject exams.

Given the large number of candidates, the Steering Committee for the High School Graduation Examination in Hanoi City has determined that organizing every stage safely and seriously is of paramount importance, as this is a crucial examination and even a small mistake could have unpredictable consequences.

Therefore, immediately after the conclusion of the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2024-2025 school year on June 8th and 9th, the entire Hanoi Education and Training sector immediately began preparing the necessary infrastructure and human resources to organize the 2024 high school graduation exam with high determination.

According to Hoang Nguyen Ung, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee and Head of the Steering Committee for Examinations and Admissions in Quoc Oai District, there are 6 examination centers in the district, with 132 official examination rooms and more than 2,900 candidates.

All examination centers are located in schools with modern facilities, ensuring security, safety, compliance with regulations, sufficient transportation, and convenient access for candidates.

To date, all preparations for the exam have been completed by the Quoc Oai District Exam Steering Committee, ensuring clear responsibilities for each person and task. The members of the Steering Committee are fully aware of their specific duties and proactively respond to requests throughout the exam process.

“Preparations for the exam have been underway since early on by the District Steering Committee. Although the 10th grade entrance exam has just concluded safely and seriously, we are not neglecting the preparations. We will continue to thoroughly review everything until June 24th, which is only two days before candidates arrive at the exam centers to complete the procedures,” Mr. Hoang Nguyen Ung added.

Having just completed organizing the 10th grade entrance exam, Cau Giay High School (Cau Giay district) will continue to be used as a testing site for the 2024 high school graduation exam.

According to Dinh Thi Nga, Deputy Principal of Cau Giay High School, the school has 26 official examination rooms, 2 waiting rooms, and 2 reserve examination rooms.

The school has fully prepared the necessary facilities and equipment for organizing the exam, paying particular attention to the security camera system and cabinets for storing exam papers and answer sheets.

Proactive response to situations

The 2024 High School Graduation Examination is the final examination under the 2006 General Education Program. The results of this examination are used both to certify students' graduation and for university admissions.

With that in mind, the Steering Committee for the Hanoi City Examination, the districts, towns, and schools are paying special attention and seriously implementing plans to ensure the examination is organized safely, seriously, and transparently, including proactively responding to unexpected or unusual situations that may occur during the examination period.

According to Vu Thu Ha, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee and Head of the Steering Committee for the High School Graduation Examination in Hanoi, with a spirit of vigilance, the city will carefully review all conditions for organizing the exam, develop solutions to respond to unexpected and unusual situations, and proactively have plans to handle them promptly, ensuring the best interests of the candidates.

The city's exam steering committee requested that localities focus on the health care of candidates, ensuring traffic safety, and responding to unusual situations caused by natural disasters and epidemics.

According to Le Van Khuong, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee and Head of the Steering Committee for Examinations and Admissions in Me Linh District, there are 5 official examination centers and 3 backup examination centers in the district, with nearly 2,900 candidates.

Although these schools were recently repurposed as examination centers for the 10th grade entrance exam, the district's Steering Committee did not take anything for granted and thoroughly reviewed all the conditions for organizing the exam.

The Steering Committee requested the district police force to proactively develop plans to protect locations throughout the district, ensuring absolute safety; coordinate with the Economic Department, the People's Committees of communes and towns, and schools to develop plans and strategies for fire prevention and control at examination sites during the exam days, and to alleviate traffic congestion and other incidents such as storms, floods, and fires at examination sites during the exam days…

Ms. Tran Thi Na, a teacher at Nguyen Thi Minh Khai High School (Bac Tu Liem district), said that although she has many years of experience in supervising exams, for each exam she still carefully studies the exam regulations and specific instructions on the invigilation process, including plans for handling unusual situations, to avoid being flustered and affecting the candidates' psychology.

Hanoi has 108,573 candidates registered to participate in the 2024 High School Graduation Examination, including more than 4,500 independent candidates. Hanoi has arranged more than 4,500 examination rooms at 196 examination centers across 30 districts, towns, and cities.

The city mobilized 15,115 officials, teachers, and staff to participate in exam supervision, and nearly 600 officials and teachers to participate in exam grading.

The Hanoi Department of Education and Training deployed 566 officials and teachers to serve as inspectors for the examination supervision work, stationed at various examination sites; and established a Monitoring Team for the Inspection Team's activities, consisting of 14 groups, each with 3 members who are leaders and specialists from the Department of Education and Training and the City Inspectorate.../.
