Hai Phong City has allocated 675 billion VND to invest in building the intersection of Bui Vien Street and Vo Nguyen Giap Street to overcome traffic congestion and conflicts here.

Perspective of the intersection between Bui Vien Street and Vo Nguyen Giap Street

Standing Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Anh Quan has just signed a decision approving the Investment Project to build the intersection between Bui Vien Street and Vo Nguyen Giap Street.

The project is being built in An Bien and Le Chan wards, using 5 hectares of land. This is a group B project, a level 1 traffic project with a total investment of 675 billion VND from the city budget, implemented in the period 2024-2027.

The investor is the Project Management Board for Investment and Construction of Transport and Agricultural Works in Hai Phong.

The underpass towards Bui Vien Street is 485 m long.

Regarding the scale of investment, the first-floor traffic intersection will be completed in the form of a roundabout, with a radius of 30 m. Along Bui Vien Street, an underpass will be built, permanently designed with reinforced concrete with a total length of 485 m. Of which, the closed tunnel is 125 m long, 27 m wide with 6 lanes, and a design speed of 70 km/h.

The airtight tunnel in the intersection is about 125 m long.

Vo Nguyen Giap Street remains in its current state, designed to smoothly connect with the roundabout intersection. Construct technical infrastructure works on the route such as: drainage system, tunnel drainage pumping station, lighting, trees and traffic safety.

The project is implemented to contribute to the completion of the traffic system in An Bien ward and Le Chan ward according to the approved planning; to overcome traffic congestion and ensure traffic safety for vehicles when passing through the intersection between Bui Vien street and Vo Nguyen Giap street. At the same time, it helps to reduce traffic volume on National Highway 5 through the inner city and other routes.
