On the morning of January 10, during his visit and working program in Laos, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Lao Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone attended the groundbreaking ceremony of the Laos - Vietnam Friendship Park project in Vientiane, Laos.
Also attending the groundbreaking ceremony were Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son, leaders of ministries, departments, branches, central and local agencies of the two countries.
This is a typical project with profound political, cultural and historical significance, a symbol of the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.
The project is funded by Vietnam in the form of a “turnkey” project. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam and the Central Office of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party were assigned by the Party and State of Vietnam and Laos to be the project investors.
The project covers an area of 3 hectares, in an area planned to become a major urban center of the capital Vientiane. The project is expected to be completed in 2025, to welcome the National Party Congresses of the two countries.
Upon completion, the project will become one of the most beautiful parks in Vientiane, a place serving the people and tourists, and at the same time a red address in educating revolutionary traditions, great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos for the people of the two countries, especially the young generation.
