Tens of thousands of people flocked to Hung Temple before the death anniversary of the Hung Kings.

Although the main Hung Kings Commemoration Day is still four days away, this morning, April 14th (the 6th day of the 3rd lunar month), tens of thousands of people from all over the country made a pilgrimage to Hung Temple to perform rituals, causing the roads leading to the temples of Hung Temple to be constantly crowded, sometimes even congested.

Due to the surge in visitors, the police, traffic police, and security guards have been mobilized to the maximum extent, stationed at many points in the historical site, especially the main entrances to the temples, to ensure security and order, remind visitors not to push and shove, and prioritize the elderly and children.

Mr. Hoang Ngoc Quang (30 years old, from Nam Truc district, Nam Dinh province) said that to avoid the crowds and congestion on the main festival day, taking advantage of the weekend when the whole family had the day off from work and the beautiful weather today, his family decided to visit and offer incense at the Hung Temple historical site.

"My family arrived early but still couldn't avoid the congestion; the paths leading up to the temple were packed with people, we had to inch forward, and coming down was also very difficult," said Quang.

According to the Organizing Committee of the Hung Temple Festival 2024, with favorable weather conditions like those of the past few days, the Organizing Committee predicts that the number of people flocking to Hung Temple will continue to increase from now until the main festival (March 10th in the lunar calendar).

It is understood that the Organizing Committee of the Hung Temple Festival 2024 has developed a detailed plan, coordinating closely with functional units, especially the Phu Tho Provincial Police force, to prepare for receiving visitors, even in the event of a sudden surge in visitor numbers. This is to ensure that visitors coming to Hung Temple to visit and offer incense will always be able to maintain solemnity and safety.
