Young entrepreneur's journey to connect growing areas

“That place has scorching sun, stinging wind, and dry land that tests people’s hearts. That place is where I have poured in so much sweat and effort, even sleepless nights, and even times when I thought about giving up. I will still keep going, because I believe... after the harsh days, the land of Ham Thuan Bac commune will bloom...”.

These are the words of Mr. Nguyen Van Duc, owner of Eden Farm in Dan Tri village, Ham Thuan Bac commune, Lam Dong province.

We had the opportunity to visit Mr. Duc's 25-hectare farm in Dan Tri village, a vast space covered in a lush green of thriving crops. From high-tech crops like greenhouse-grown cantaloupe to cassava, passion fruit, and chili peppers, Mr. Duc has boldly and successfully cultivated them all on this land.

Looking back at today's achievements, Mr. Duc said that in 2018, Eden Farm brought high technology and sustainable agricultural models to this land. The farm's goal was to apply technology to minimize difficulties caused by weather and soil conditions, along with the expectation of creating significant change and helping local people develop together.

One of the key factors driving Eden Farm's investment in Ham Thuan Bac district is the recent investment in the province's irrigation system, ensuring a more stable water supply for production. In particular, the newly opened expressway has shortened travel time from the farm to Ho Chi Minh City to approximately 2.5 hours, creating an advantage for the rapid transportation of fresh agricultural products to major markets.

According to Mr. Nguyen Van Duc, Eden Farm chooses a high-tech agricultural model, operating on the principles of a circular economy, minimizing waste, reusing by-products, and combining sustainable farming practices. All processes aim to achieve international certifications such as GlobalGAP, meeting the requirements of demanding markets.

By implementing practical projects, the farm also guides local farmers on how to practice agriculture according to international standards. Simultaneously, it acts as a bridge, helping farmers confidently switch crops, ensuring stable output and transparent pricing.

Regarding future plans, the farm owner stated that Eden Farm aims to develop sustainable agriculture based on diversified farming areas. In 2025, in addition to the project in Ham Thuan Bac, Eden Farm expanded with another farm in Don Duong commune, focusing on biomass corn. Simultaneously, they plan to cultivate purple passion fruit, strawberries, coffee, organic ginger, and various organic vegetables for freeze-dried vegetable powder production. Mr. Duc believes that Ham Thuan Bac commune in particular, and the southeastern region of Lam Dong province in general, will soon become a high-quality agricultural production area, working alongside Don Duong commune to create a "regional farming linkage map," ready to conquer the international market.
