On February 13th in Hanoi , the Vietnam Volleyball Federation (VFV) held a signing ceremony, announced sponsors, and conducted the draw for the 2025 National Volleyball Championship.
Excited to anticipate the thrilling matches at the 2025 National Volleyball Championship.
Accordingly, the 2025 National Volleyball Championship will attract 8 men's teams: Border Guard Club, Sanest Khanh Hoa, The Cong Tan Cang, Da Nang, Ninh Binh, Hanoi, Long An, and Ho Chi Minh City Police; and 8 women's teams: VTV Binh Dien Long An, Duc Giang Chemical, Ninh Binh, Geleximco Thai Binh , Information Corps, Industrial and Commercial Bank, Ho Chi Minh City, and Thanh Hoa. This represents a reduction of 2 teams (1 men's team, 1 women's team) compared to last year's tournament and 4 teams (2 men's, 2 women's) compared to the 2023 season. This is a turning point for Vietnamese volleyball on the path to building an increasingly professional and attractive tournament.
Mr. Le Tri Truong, General Secretary of the VFV, hopes that the 2025 National Volleyball Championship will be as successful as expected, gradually moving towards professionalism.
The 2025 National Volleyball Championship will continue to be played in a single round-robin format, divided into two stages. Stage 1 (5 rounds) will take place from March 22nd to 31st in Hanoi, while Stage 2 and the finals will be held from October 10th to 19th in Ninh Binh . Experts expect the tournament to move towards a home and away format to increase attractiveness and cater to the needs of fans and team spirit, instead of the current centralized format. However, given the current circumstances, the plan proposed by the VFV (Vietnam Volleyball Federation) is considered appropriate.
Tran Thi Thanh Thuy (3) returns to play for VTV Binh Dien Long An Club in the 2025 National Volleyball Championship.
Good news for the teams as the Vietnam Volleyball Federation (VFV) has a new sponsor, so the attractive prize money for the 2025 National Volleyball Championship will remain at 2.28 billion VND. Each men's and women's champion team will receive 500 million VND. The runner-up will receive 300 million VND, the third-place team 200 million VND, and the fourth-place team 100 million VND.
The 2025 National Volleyball Championship also serves as a basis for the coaching staff of the Vietnamese men's and women's national volleyball teams to select outstanding players to represent Vietnam in international competitions, with a focus on the 33rd SEA Games in December in Thailand. VTV Binh Dien Long An, the reigning women's champions, see the return of Tran Thi Thanh Thuy, while the in-form hitter Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen promises to help Ninh Binh Club soar. In the men's competition, the reigning runner-up Sanest Khanh Hoa is facing a depleted squad, making the defending champion Bien Phong the top contender.
