The first consultation session introduced candidates for the National Assembly and People's Council of Gia Lai province.

(GLO)- On the afternoon of December 4, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Gia Lai province held the first consultation conference to agree on the structure, composition, and number of candidates for the 16th National Assembly (locally) and the 13th Provincial People's Council, term 2026-2031.

The conference was chaired by comrades: Nguyen Ngoc Luong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Election Committee; Tran Minh Son - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Member of the Provincial Election Committee; Ho Thi Kim Thu - Vice Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee.

At the conference, based on Official Dispatch No. 1487/UBTVQH15 dated November 24, 2025 of the National Assembly Standing Committee, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Truong Van Dat, on behalf of the Provincial People's Council Standing Committee, presented the expected allocation of the number, structure and composition of elected National Assembly deputies of the 16th term of Gia Lai province.

According to the number, structure and composition of the 16th National Assembly deputies elected in Gia Lai province, there are 16 deputies; of which, 7 deputies are introduced by the Central Government, 9 deputies reside and work locally.

At the conference, delegates discussed democratically, frankly, and reached a high consensus on the number of people recommended to run for the 16th National Assembly, which is 28 people, to elect 16 delegates.

At the same time, delegates also highly agreed on the allocation of candidates nominated for National Assembly deputies to agencies, organizations and units nominated by the province.

The conference also presented the expected structure, composition and number of people from agencies, organizations and units in Gia Lai province to nominate candidates for the 13th Provincial People's Council, term 2026-2031. Specifically, the number of people nominated to run for the 13th Provincial People's Council is 142 people.

The provincial election committee will establish 18 constituencies to elect 85 delegates to the new term.

Based on the discussion, the conference voted unanimously to introduce 142 candidates from the province and localities to elect 85 delegates, ensuring that each constituency will have more candidates than the number of people elected in accordance with the law.

At the same time, vote unanimously on the allocation of the number of candidates for the 13th Provincial People's Council to agencies, organizations and units in the province.
