On the afternoon of November 7, speaking with VietNamNet reporter, the leader of Traffic Police Team No. 4, Traffic Police Department ( Hanoi Police) said that they had requested NGB (born 2006, in Hai Ba Trung district, a 12th grade student) and his guardian to come to work on the act of driving a motorbike carrying his girlfriend in a "face-to-face" hugging position.
The police agency affirmed that this image shows very poor awareness and behavior of NGB. In particular, this abnormal image when posted on social networks has caused many negative effects.
Grasping the above information, implementing the direction of the Traffic Police Department Command (Hanoi Police), Traffic Police Team No. 4 has stepped in to verify, clarify and requested NGB and his guardian to come to work.
At the police station, NGB admitted that he was the character in the unusual image posted on social media. In the male student’s statement, it was stated that at around 10 p.m. on November 4, NGB took his family’s motorbike to pick up his girlfriend and then went to West Lake to play.
Near midnight, NGB and his girlfriend were riding a motorbike towards Le Duan Street and turning onto Dai Co Viet Street. Both were not wearing helmets and were sitting face to face on the motorbike.
Based on the testimony and images, the officers of Traffic Police Team No. 4 made a record of the temporary confiscation of the motorbike that NGB had driven, committing the illegal act. At the same time, they applied sanctions to handle violations such as driving without a driver's license, not wearing a helmet, and carrying other people in dangerous and unsafe situations.
The leader of Traffic Police Team No. 4 informed that by requiring NGB to write a self-criticism and pledge not to re-offend, the police agency has asked the male student's family to strengthen education and proactively manage their child.
In addition, the traffic police are verifying and handling the behavior of the person riding the same motorbike with NGB on the night of November 4.
