On the afternoon of November 26, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee (VFF) of Ca Mau province held a conference to deploy instructions on supporting poor and near-poor households whose incomes were affected by natural disasters in the province.

Accordingly, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province will disburse the Provincial Relief Fund to support poor and near-poor households affected by flooding due to heavy rain and high tides in recent times, affecting production and income.

The support level is 1 million VND/household with production loss of 30% or more. Through review, Ca Mai province has more than 3,000 poor and near-poor households eligible for support, with a support budget of more than 3 billion VND.

To implement, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees of communes and wards report to the Party Committees and coordinate with the People's Committees at the same level to establish a survey and assessment team to determine the level of damage and impact on the income of poor and near-poor households in the area.

The Survey Teams conduct field surveys of 100% of poor and near-poor households, assess the level of impact and make a list of households whose production and income are affected by 30% or more; and are responsible for the results and accuracy of the assessment.

Based on the survey results, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the commune and ward will support eligible households and complete procedures and settlement records, ensuring the fair, public, transparent and objective use of funds.

The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ca Mau province guides that in cases where all allocated funds have been spent but there are still subjects in need of support, the locality is requested to mobilize additional social resources to continue supporting the remaining subjects. If resources have been mobilized but difficulties still exist, the locality shall report to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province for synthesis and request the opinion of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee to consider allocating additional funds.
