The Chairman of Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee awarded certificates of merit to Miss Vietnam 2024 Ha Truc Linh and Miss Vietnam Tourism Ambassador 2024 Dinh Thi Hoa for their outstanding achievements in their roles as tourism ambassadors.

On the morning of July 18, Mr. Dao My - Vice Chairman of Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee - awarded certificates of merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to two individuals with outstanding achievements in the role of tourism ambassadors, Miss Vietnam 2024 Ha Truc Linh and Miss Vietnam Tourism Ambassador 2024 Dinh Thi Hoa.

At the event, Mr. My hopes that the two beauty queens will contribute to spreading the image of Dak Lak tourism more widely at home and abroad.

"We are aiming to build a closed tour chain so that tourists can experience the mountains, forests, and waterfalls in the West and then continue their journey to the sea, fishing villages, and relax at coastal resorts in the East. Integrating intra-provincial destinations is an important direction for sustainable tourism development," Mr. My told Tuoi Tre Online on the sidelines of the event.

According to him, the Western region (formerly Dak Lak) is famous for its waterfalls, elephants, ecological lakes, primeval forests and Central Highlands gong culture, while the Eastern region (formerly Phu Yen ) has strengths in sea tourism, fishing villages, fishing ports and ocean tuna specialties.

The province is currently waiting for central government approval to expand National Highway 29, the vital route connecting the two regions. This will be an important infrastructure for developing inter-regional tourism in the long term.

However, Mr. My admitted that the integration process was not simple because before the merger, each locality had its own tourism development strategy, with differences and even overlaps.

"We are carefully considering everything from products to organization, ensuring each area retains its own characteristics but is still in harmony with the whole," he said.

The Provincial People's Committee has assigned the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to preside over the development of a tourism integration project, aiming to develop the smokeless industry into a new economic pillar.

The beauty queens promise to spread the beauty of Dak Lak tourism.

At the meeting, Miss Vietnam Ha Truc Linh emotionally shared her pride in returning to her homeland at this historic moment. "Witnessing the moment Phu Yen and Dak Lak became a family is special. We will strive to promote our homeland's culture to all regions," she said.

Miss Dinh Thi Hoa said she will actively promote the destination and local specialties, especially cuisine. "Dak Lak not only has coffee and durian, but is also famous for tuna and lobster, specialties previously associated with the Phu Yen sea," she shared.

Mr. Tran Hong Tien - Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism - said that the industry will continue to accompany tourism ambassadors who are children of Dak Lak, spreading the image of a Dak Lak with diverse identities and full potential of sea and forest after the merger.
