On May 13th, a representative of Ngoc Chau confirmed that she had ceased her studies at Ton Duc Thang University in Ho Chi Minh City.
The beauty queen's representatives stated that, after working with the school in February, they received notification that Ngoc Chau was not eligible to return and complete her studies as desired, as the period for deferring her studies had expired.

Ngoc Chau said that although she felt a little sad, she accepted the reality. The beauty queen believes that education is a lifelong commitment, so she will look for other opportunities and work harder in the future.
"I won't give up and I will try to start enrolling again in some field so that I can fulfill my mother's wish as well as my own," the beauty queen said.
Previously, on the show Dream of Vietnam, Ngoc Chau admitted to her mother, Dang Thi Gai, that she was unable to obtain a bachelor's degree.
Miss Universe Vietnam 2022 confided to her mother: "I told you before that I was almost finished with my studies, and that I would graduate after completing my thesis and project. However, I still have one or two projects left to complete, so I can't get my degree yet. Because I've exceeded the training deadline, the school won't let me return to continue my studies. Now I can't get my degree anymore."
At this point, Ngoc Chau's mother reacted with surprise and worry. Despite her sadness, she still encouraged Ngoc Chau: "The most tiring and difficult times were when we ran out of money and the children were still young. At that time, I had to borrow money from the bank and work hard to support them. I just hope you find a stable job. Just keep trying, whatever has happened has happened."
Ngoc Chau confessed to her mother that she hadn't graduated from university yet.
In February, rumors circulated that she had not yet graduated from university, causing a stir. Ngoc Chau denied the rumors of falsifying her qualifications, asserting that she had never informed the media or the public that she had graduated from Ton Duc Thang University.
On behalf of Miss Universe Vietnam, Mr. Tran Viet Bao Hoang - representative of the competition's organizing committee - affirmed that the reigning Miss Universe did not deceive anyone in providing information when participating in the competition.
"At the Miss Universe Vietnam competition and in the information submitted to the Miss Universe organization, Ngoc Chau's profile clearly states that her main occupation is a model, that she studied Biotechnology, and is currently working in the arts. There is absolutely no question of falsifying her educational background," Mr. Hoang said.
Nguyen Thi Ngoc Chau was born in 1993 in Tay Ninh province. In 2018, she competed in the Miss Supranational Vietnam pageant and won the title. She then competed in Miss Supranational 2019, reaching the Top 10 and winning the Miss Supranational Asia title.
In May 2022, she was crowned Miss Universe Vietnam, earning the right to compete in the 71st Miss Universe pageant in the US in early 2023, but she did not make it to the top.
