The Ho Chi Minh City Veterans Association received a delegation from the Vientiane Capital Veterans Association - Laos.

On the morning of June 11th, a delegation from the Vientiane Capital Veterans Association of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, led by Major General Phanom Linthoong, visited, interacted with, and worked with the Ho Chi Minh City Veterans Association. Major General Nguyen Minh Hoang, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Veterans Association, presided over the reception of the delegation.

Speaking at the reception, Major General Nguyen Minh Hoang, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Veterans Association, gave a brief overview of the recent achievements in economic and social development of Ho Chi Minh City.

He also provided information on the role, tasks, and some outstanding activities of the Ho Chi Minh City Veterans Association, especially in carrying out tasks such as: participating in building and protecting the Party, government, and people; social supervision and criticism; educating the younger generation about revolutionary traditions; and sustainable poverty reduction…

Major General Nguyen Minh Hoang presented a commemorative gift at the meeting.

Speaking at the meeting, Major General Phanom Linthoong expressed his joy and appreciation for the thoughtful reception from the Ho Chi Minh City Veterans Association to the delegation. He emphasized that the Party, Government , and the Lao Veterans Association always remember the Vietnamese volunteer soldiers who stood shoulder to shoulder with the Lao army and people, sacrificing their lives and blood to fight against foreign invaders and regain independence and freedom for the Lao nation.

The delegation took a commemorative photo at the meeting.

"Vietnam and Laos, our two countries, are both comrades and brothers." The Vientiane Capital Veterans Association will encourage its members to continue preserving and fostering the special tradition of solidarity and friendship between Vietnam and Laos, and to learn from the valuable and practical experiences of the Ho Chi Minh City Veterans Association; while also applying them appropriately in building the association's organization and helping each other alleviate poverty.
