Competition to display, introduce, present traditional costumes and contest to beautify ethnic groups in traditional costumes

On the afternoon of October 17, in Cam Thuy district, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism organized a contest to perform, introduce, and present traditional costumes and a beauty contest in traditional costumes of Thanh Hoa province in 2024.

Leaders of the Ethnic Committee, Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism presented souvenir flags to the competition teams.

The contest attracted 110 contestants from Muong Lat, Quan Son, Quan Hoa, Ba Thuoc, Lang Chanh, Thuong Xuan, Ngoc Lac, Cam Thuy, Thach Thanh, Nhu Thanh, and Nhu Xuan districts. The contest consisted of two parts: team competition and individual competition. For the team competition, the teams went through greetings, costume demonstrations, and speeches. For the individual competition, each team selected one female contestant, aged 18-25, with a beautiful appearance, to participate in the costume demonstration, talent, and behavioral competition with content related to traditional costumes of ethnic minorities.

The contest of performing, introducing, presenting traditional costumes and the beauty contest of ethnic minorities in traditional costumes of Thanh Hoa province in 2024 is one of the important tasks to continue to preserve and promote traditional cultural values ​​in Thanh Hoa province in general and ethnic minorities in 11 mountainous districts in particular, contributing to promoting and completing 1 of 6 key programs set out by the 19th Provincial Party Executive Committee, term 2020 - 2025. Introducing and honoring the good traditional cultural values ​​of ethnic minorities in mountainous districts.

The contest is also an opportunity for contestants to meet, exchange experiences in preserving and promoting traditional cultural values ​​of ethnic groups; strengthening and consolidating the great national unity bloc. Thereby, contributing to educating the tradition of patriotism, national pride, and sense of responsibility to preserve and promote traditional national culture.
