Construction began in November 2021, and after more than two years, the project was completed with a total investment of 1,376 billion VND. The complex consists of two buildings; building A (front) houses a theater, cinema, and art club. Building B contains a library, astronomical tower, sports arena, swimming pool, etc.
The project is designed around the theme "Nurturing and Developing," with two large circular buildings at its center, creating a soft, cohesive overall shape with many novel and unique design ideas that are close to nature, making it both suitable for children and highly educational .
The completed project, now in use, creates a favorable environment for discovering, nurturing, and developing talent from childhood; with its modern, dynamic, and creative space, it plays a significant role in contributing to the development and construction of a civilized and modern city.
Previously, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee, Le Hong Son, signed and issued Plan No. 272/KH-UBND dated September 16, 2024, on the inauguration and plaque unveiling of the Hanoi Children's Palace to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of Hanoi (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2024).
Accordingly, an inauguration ceremony will be held to officially open the Hanoi Children's Palace on Pham Hung Street, My Dinh 2 Ward, Nam Tu Liem District, to meet the learning, playing, sports competition, physical training, and cultural exchange needs of Hanoi's children. This is a practical activity to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of Hanoi. The inauguration ceremony will be held on September 21, 2024.

The People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City has assigned the City's Civil Construction Investment Project Management Board as the permanent agency, responsible for presiding over all matters related to the inauguration and plaque unveiling of the project. It will also preside over acceptance procedures with relevant units to complete the necessary formalities and hand over the project in accordance with regulations.
The City Police, in coordination with the Nam Tu Liem District Police and other relevant units, will ensure security, order, and fire safety at the site where the inauguration ceremony and plaque unveiling are held.
The Department of Transportation, in coordination with the People's Committee of Nam Tu Liem District, will develop a plan and organize traffic flow management to ensure traffic safety during the inauguration and plaque unveiling ceremony. They will also coordinate with the People's Committee of Nam Tu Liem District and the City Police in managing traffic around the area, ensuring smooth and safe traffic flow.
The City's Emulation and Commendation Board presided over the announcement of the Decision on awarding the plaque and commending collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in organizing and implementing the Hanoi Children's Palace construction investment project.
Coordinate with the Hanoi City Civil Construction Investment Project Management Board to determine the location for the plaque and the plan for organizing the plaque installation, ensuring it is dignified and appropriate.
The People's Committee of Nam Tu Liem District directed the District's Department of Culture and Information and the District's Department of Health to disseminate information through the information systems of the wards about the inauguration ceremony, the unveiling of the plaque, and the activities of the Hanoi Children's Palace. They also directed subordinate units to upgrade and beautify the urban landscape surrounding the building.
The Hanoi People's Committee requests that the inauguration and plaque unveiling ceremony be organized in a solemn, effective, practical, economical, and meaningful manner. Information about the Hanoi Children's Palace should be widely disseminated to all segments of the population, especially children in the capital and surrounding areas. Close coordination between relevant units and agencies in organizing the event is also required.
