Leaders of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee inspected the relocation of technical infrastructure and site clearance of rest stops on the Van Phong - Nha Trang expressway project (section through Ninh Hoa town).

According to Project Management Board 7, the area for building rest stops on both sides of the route at Km 334+900 ( Ninh Binh commune, Ninh Hoa town, Khanh Hoa province) has a total area of about 7.8 hectares (more than 4.2 hectares on the right side of the route and nearly 3.6 hectares on the left side of the route). This area is hilly land and has not been cleared yet.

The rest stop will have the following items: Parking lot, service house, temporary rest room for drivers, resting space, information area, dining and refreshment area, product introduction and sales area, duty area for rescue workers, first aid for traffic accidents, etc.

In addition, this station also has a fuel station, vehicle maintenance and repair workshop, transformer station, car wash area, etc.

The Van Phong - Nha Trang expressway project is gradually being completed on schedule.

The overall project implementation progress is expected to be about 12 months. Of which, the expected completion time for project items is 8 months (from the effective date of the contract between the competent authorities and the investor). The project exploitation period after completing the investment work is 25 years.

"Before signing the contract, the competent authority will negotiate with the investor to shorten the implementation progress to strive for the successful completion of the rest stop project in sync with the expressway component projects when put into operation according to the direction of the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Transport," said a representative of Project Management Board 7.

It is known that in early October this year, the Vietnam Expressway Administration (Ministry of Transport) issued a decision approving the adjustment of some information on the investment project for the Km 334+900 rest stop, part of the Van Phong - Nha Trang component project.

The project has a total investment of over 230 billion VND. Of which, the investment cost for project implementation is nearly 200 billion VND and over 31 billion VND is for compensation, support and resettlement costs.

The project investment capital is 100% of the investor's capital. The capital mobilization plan includes equity capital and mobilization of other legal capital sources to implement the project in accordance with the law on investment.

The Van Phong - Nha Trang Expressway is over 83km long. The starting point intersects with National Highway 1 (in Van Tho commune, Van Ninh district, Khanh Hoa province), connecting with the southern access road of Co Ma tunnel and Chi Thanh - Van Phong Expressway. The end point is at the intersection with National Highway 27C (in Dien Tho commune, Dien Khanh district, Khanh Hoa province), connecting with Nha Trang - Cam Lam Expressway.

In the diverging phase, the road will have 4 lanes, with a design speed of 80 - 90km/h. In the completed phase, the road will have 6 lanes, 2 emergency lanes, and a design speed of 120km/h.

The project will start construction in early 2023, with Project Management Board 7 as the investor, with a total capital of nearly 12,000 billion VND. The project is expected to be completed 6 months ahead of schedule and open to traffic before April 30, 2025.
