More than 600 athletes participated in the 1st Quang Minh Commune Sports Festival

In his opening remarks, Vice Chairman of the Quang Minh Commune People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan emphasized that the first Quang Minh Commune Sports Festival is not only a widespread mass sports activity, but also a celebration showcasing the strength of great unity, demonstrating the will to train and the aspiration to rise of the people of Quang Minh in the period of reform. The festival is a testament to the efforts to build the people of Quang Minh to be "healthy - dynamic - creative - integrated".

In recent years, with the city's attention following the implementation of the two-tiered local government model, the sports and physical education movement in Quang Minh commune has developed rapidly. The commune People's Committee has issued a plan for the development of sports and physical education for the period 2025-2030, focusing on investing in grassroots cultural and sports facilities, raising the percentage of people regularly practicing sports and physical education to over 45% and the percentage of families participating in sports to 35%. 100% of village cultural centers are equipped with outdoor training grounds and sports equipment; more than 20 sports clubs are maintained and operate effectively.

This year's sports festival brought together over 600 athletes from villages, schools, and clubs in the commune, competing in 9 sports: athletics, badminton, table tennis, football, sepak takraw, volleyball, tug-of-war, chess, and martial arts. By the time of the opening ceremony, the commune had successfully organized 4 competitions, creating a vibrant and healthy competitive atmosphere in the community.

The commune's sports competition and training movement has quickly demonstrated its potential, with many young athletes achieving encouraging results at cluster, sector, and city-level competitions. This serves as a foundation for Quang Minh commune to continue discovering and nurturing talent, aiming to have athletes participate in the 11th Hanoi Sports Festival in 2025.

The first Quang Minh Commune Sports Festival is also an opportunity for participating units to exchange ideas, learn from each other, strengthen solidarity within the community, contribute to building a new cultural life, and awaken the awareness of physical training to serve learning, work, and national defense.
