Speaking at the opening ceremony, journalist Nguyen Tien Binh - Vice President of the Association of Vietnamese Universities and Colleges, Editor-in-Chief of the Vietnam Education e-magazine, and Head of the Organizing Committee of the tournament - affirmed: "This is not simply a sports tournament, but also the first milestone, the beginning of a promising journey - where the spirit of school sports is awakened, nurtured, and widely spread within the educational community."
Through this tournament, we aim to create a beneficial, healthy, and in-depth playground where students not only compete to win but also learn to accept challenges, respect opponents, overcome their limitations, and most importantly, understand the value of teamwork, discipline, and perseverance."

Athletes will compete in three categories corresponding to three age groups: U15, U18, and U23. The tournament applies the current 5x5 basketball rules as stipulated by the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) and has two main rounds: the group stage and the playoff round - a knockout competition.
A special feature of this tournament is the pioneering application of systematic and professional health support and care policies for athletes. A medical and security team is always on standby at each match to ensure safety and promptly handle any unforeseen situations.
Immediately following the opening ceremony were two promising opening matches in the U18 boys' category - the first matches in the tournament's journey.
The first match was a clash between the Yen Hoa High School team and the Kim Lien High School team – two teams that have demonstrated a professional and dedicated style of play.
The second match was an equally exciting contest between the Chu Van An Specialized High School team and Vinschool The Harmony, one of the schools with a strong tradition in school sports.
