Exciting national student basketball tournament taking place in Da Nang

The 2024 National Student Basketball Tournament for the Central region has officially kicked off in Da Nang , attracting a large number of students from all over to compete and cheer, creating a vibrant atmosphere.

Accordingly, on the afternoon of November 12th, the opening ceremony of the 2024 National Student Basketball Tournament for the Central region took place at the Da Nang University Sports Center.

Here, 11 men's and women's teams from universities and colleges across various provinces and cities in Central Vietnam will compete from now until November 16th.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Le Thanh Bac, Vice Director of Da Nang University, emphasized that this is a meaningful activity to celebrate the 42nd anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers' Day on November 20th and the 30th anniversary of the founding of Da Nang University.

“After the regional tournament, the organizing committee will select one men's team and one women's team with the best performance to participate in the national finals, which are expected to take place in Ho Chi Minh City at the end of this year. I hope the teams will compete to the best of their abilities and provide exciting plays for the audience,” said Associate Professor Dr. Le Thanh Bac.

This tournament is not only a healthy sporting event but also aims to raise awareness of physical fitness among students. It is also an opportunity for universities and colleges to interact, share experiences, and jointly develop the school sports movement.

Student Le Trung Bao Khang, a player on the Da Nang University basketball team, shared: “We came to the tournament hoping to achieve the highest possible results. All the participating teams are very strong, so we have a well-planned training schedule and prepared thoroughly, while also competing with high concentration.”

Following the opening ceremony, the match between the University of Da Nang and the University of Quy Nhon unfolded in a lively and dramatic manner, providing the audience with many spectacular plays.
