In the report, Urs Hofman – a former member of the Swiss House of Representatives – assessed that Bern's system for supporting Ukrainian refugees is working effectively, but this could still develop further in the future.
According to the report, the main sectors in which Ukrainian refugees are accepted for jobs are hospitality, information technology, accounting, and education .
Newly updated figures show that this group has an average monthly salary of around 4,700 Francs (equivalent to $5,215 USD) and no cases of wage devaluation have been recorded.
However, the proportion of Ukrainians employed in different regions of Switzerland remains uneven.
In the past, the Swiss government implemented a "S-level protection" system to deal with the influx of refugees from conflicts in the Balkans. This mechanism allowed for the expedited processing of asylum applications from foreigners.
Last March, the Swiss cabinet granted the aforementioned status to Ukrainian refugees.
