Over the past 3 days, heavy rains have occurred in some localities in the city. Thanks to good prevention work, more than 95,000 hectares of rice and summer-autumn vegetables have been ensured safety.

Winter-spring rice area in Vinh Thinh commune is guaranteed safety

According to the Department of Agriculture and Environment, from August 14 until now, heavy rain has occurred in some localities in Hai Phong city. However, due to good prevention work, 80,760 hectares of winter-spring rice and 15,360 hectares of hectares of summer-autumn vegetables are guaranteed to be safe.

Currently, rice fields are growing and developing well. Localities are focusing on care, pest control, and rat extermination. Regarding vegetable areas, some areas are being harvested, vegetable products are basically consumed smoothly, and prices are stable, equivalent to the same period in 2024.

Previously, the irrigation systems in the localities: Tien Lang, Vinh Bao, Thuy Nguyen, An Hai, Da Do... were all proactively operated by management units through sluices through the dikes to lower the buffer water level on the canals leading to the river, at the same time proactively clearing the flow and obstacles in the congested areas, with backup plans ready to operate field pumping stations for flood control and pumping stations for flood control.
