iPhone 16 will be much more powerful than its predecessor

According to MacRumros , analyst Jeff Pu stated in his latest report that the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus models will be equipped with the A18 chip. However, this does not mean it will be the same chip found in the Pro models, which are expected to come with the more powerful A18 Pro chip. This is Apple's new approach to both ensure that the Pro models are equipped with more powerful chips while also preventing users of the basic models from feeling a clear distinction, as happened with the iPhone 14 and 15 series previously.

The basic iPhone 16 models could attract customers thanks to new improvements.

But this isn't the only improvement on the base iPhone 16 models, as they are expected to have 8GB of RAM instead of the 6GB currently found on the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus models. The increase in RAM seems to be Apple's preparation for deploying AI to its smartphones in the future. If so, AI won't be a priority exclusive to the Pro models.

Unsurprisingly, Apple will continue to differentiate its two product lines by applying certain features to the more expensive models. As a result, the two base models will support Wi-Fi 6E, operating in the 6 GHz band, allowing for faster wireless speeds and reduced signal interference with compatible routers.

Meanwhile, the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max may offer Wi-Fi 7. This new standard was officially certified earlier this year, paving the way for an increasing number of Wi-Fi 7-enabled devices to appear on the market.
