On October 28, Tasnim news agency quoted Salami as saying that Israel had "failed to achieve its sinister goals" with the October 26 airstrike, and that this was a sign of "miscalculation."

The IRGC leader also warned that Israel would suffer "unforeseen and bitter consequences" as the Jewish state clashes with pro-Iranian armed forces in the Gaza Strip and Lebanon.

Meanwhile, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian declared at a cabinet meeting in Tehran that his country would have an “appropriate response” to Israel’s “aggression” against Iranian territory, while warning of the risk of escalating tensions in the West Asian region.

He stated clearly: "We do not want war, but we will defend the rights of our people and our country."

Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf also expressed the view that Iran's response to Israel's aggression would be "certain".

On the same day, October 28, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei declared that the country would not adjust its nuclear policy following the Israeli attack: "Our position on weapons of mass destruction is very clear... We absolutely do not support the militarization of the nuclear program."

On October 26, Israel launched airstrikes on several locations in Iran in retaliation for Tehran's attack on Israel on October 1. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared the airstrikes on Iran "precise and powerful," achieving all their objectives.

On October 27, Iran's official news agency IRNA quoted Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi as accusing the United States of involvement in Israel's recent military operations against Tehran.

Emphasizing that the US provided air corridors and equipment to Israel to carry out attacks on Iran in the early morning of October 26, Iranian officials asserted that the country maintains its position that Washington "must be held responsible for that."
