The IDF added that Hezbollah's southern front commander, Ali Karaki, was also killed along with several other commanders of the Lebanon-based armed group.
The Israeli Air Force attacked Hezbollah's central headquarters by leveraging precise intelligence from its intelligence wing and defense system. The headquarters was located underground, beneath a residential building in Beirut, Lebanon.
On the same day, the Israeli army also announced that it was mobilizing three reserve battalions to reinforce the defenses of its central command, the operational unit responsible for the West Bank.
The decision was made just before important Jewish holidays, amid ongoing conflict in the West Bank between Palestinian militants and Israeli forces.
Violence in the West Bank has increased significantly since Hamas's attack on Israel last October. The situation is particularly serious with the increase in attacks by Palestinian armed groups and clashes with Israeli military forces.
In recent weeks, Israel has launched numerous offensives targeting Palestinian militants in West Bank cities such as Jenin, Nablus, Tulkarm, and Tubas, causing significant casualties and damage to infrastructure.
