Jose Mourinho again lures Victor Lindelof to Fenerbahce

The Turkish side have big ambitions under Mourinho and have identified Lindelof as a key target to bolster their defence.

Lindelof has not played much in the 2024-25 season at MU and is facing fierce competition from new teammates such as Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui. His contract expires at the end of the season and currently, both sides do not seem to have plans to negotiate an extension.

Lindelof joined MU from Benfica in 2017 and has made a total of 260 appearances for the team. However, this season he has only made one Premier League appearance. According to FIFA regulations, from January 1, 2025, clubs can contact Lindelof and can sign him on a free contract after June 30.

Mourinho had a high opinion of Lindelof's abilities when he was a coach at MU. He believed that the 30-year-old defender could take on many different positions in the defense, from center back to the wing positions, bringing depth and quality to the team.

Fenerbahce are considering the possibility of signing Lindelof on the cheap in January 2025, instead of waiting until the summer and facing many competitors.
