The trend of online shopping and increasing household spending on food and beverages is driving the growth of plastic packaging products. Every day, online stores discard countless plastic bags and product packaging, and restaurants throw away thousands of plastic cups and bowls. The consumption of single-use plastic products is having a serious impact on the environment.
As a bridge between buyers and sellers, and understanding the serious impact of plastic waste on the environment, J&T Express officially launched the "Building a Green Future" campaign this November, in collaboration with the Communication Center of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment , to encourage the community to collect waste for recycling into valuable products.
Participants simply need to clean and sort used plastic products such as plastic bottles, plastic containers, or milk cartons, and bring them to collection points between 7 AM and 7 PM on weekdays.
By establishing 25 waste collection points in Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi , and Bac Ninh, J&T Express creates opportunities for both businesses and individuals to participate and spread the spirit of environmental protection in the most practical way.
All collected and sorted plastic waste at the collection center will be transferred to Lagom Vietnam (a company specializing in waste collection and recycling) to be recycled into 10 sets of high-quality desks and chairs to be donated to 5 schools in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Bac Ninh province during phase 2 of the campaign, taking place this November. These recycled desks and chairs are durable, termite-resistant, and especially safe for users.
After collection, the plastic waste will be processed by a recycling unit into 10 sets of tables and chairs to be donated to the school.
Mr. Phan Binh, Brand Director of J&T Express Vietnam, shared: "Every discarded plastic bottle becomes a burden on the environment, directly affecting our lives and future generations. Through the 'Creating a Green Future' program, J&T Express aims to spread the message of 'living green' to the community, calling on everyone to 'recycle' plastic waste and give it a more meaningful new life."
