Watching the MV Diary of Life , many fans wondered and "searched" for the hidden meaning behind the 3 numbers 4, 2, 1. Not keeping the audience waiting long, in a carefully invested trailer, Karik appeared with a strong, edgy image and announced that 421 would be his double album.

421 is also the first double album in the history of Vietnamese rap/hip-hop music. The two albums will be released at the same time with the names Bright Side and Dark Side - contrasting with Karik's musical style. Dark Side will bring underground Karik back with the edgy and dark spirit of the rap Nhat ky va doi that was just released. Meanwhile, Bright Side will aim to conquer the tastes of the mass audience. According to Karik, this album is not only a musical product but also his confession about his 15-year journey with rap/hip-hop. Along with the release on digital music platforms, Karik also opened pre-orders for the physical version of the album.
After 3 days of release, the MV Nhat ky va doi - the opening song for the album 421 - reached over 1 million views and entered the top 4 Trending YouTube - music section (currently over 3.2 million views); the song also entered the top of digital music charts in Vietnam such as: top 100 Spotify, top 50 Apple Music.
