Opening Ceremony of the 2025 National Taekwondo Club Championships - Korean Ambassador's Cup

On the evening of September 11th, the opening ceremony of the 2025 National Taekwondo Club Championship - Korean Ambassador's Cup took place at the Duc Xuan Ward Sports Center. The tournament was organized by the Vietnam Department of Sports and Physical Education; the Vietnam Taekwondo Federation; the Korean Cultural Center in Vietnam in coordination with the People's Committee of Thai Nguyen province.

The tournament involved 46 teams nationwide, with 1,460 athletes, coaches, and support staff. The athletes competed for 226 sets of medals.

The individual combat competition is divided into four age groups: under 12 years old; 12 to 14 years old; 15 to 17 years old; and over 18 years old. The team combat competition is divided into three age groups: 12 to 14 years old; 15 to 17 years old; and 18 years old and above.

Technical competitions include: Standard Poomsae, Creative Poomsae, and Team Performance.

Since its first edition in 2010, the tournament has been held in many locations across the country, and this year it's being held in Thai Nguyen . This demonstrates the tournament's enduring value and its growing appeal to local authorities and professionals alike in hosting the event.

Earlier, on September 11th, athletes competed in the following events: Standard Poomsae, Creative Poomsae, and Team Performance, in two age groups, U12 and U20; and individual sparring for boys and girls in the U14 age group.

Immediately after the opening ceremony, the Organizing Committee proceeded to present awards to the athletes who won prizes in the competitions held on September 11th.

The 2025 National Taekwondo Club Championship - Korean Ambassador's Cup, is one of the activities celebrating the Party Congresses at all levels, leading up to the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

The tournament aims to strengthen exchanges, share experiences, and foster mutual understanding among participating units; it also serves as an opportunity to test and evaluate the professional skills of athletes, thereby discovering talents to supplement the national Taekwondo team and youth teams.

The tournament will run until September 15, 2025, at the Duc Xuan Ward Sports Center, Thai Nguyen Province.
