Continuing his official visit to Iran, on the evening of August 9th (local time), National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue and the high-level delegation of the Vietnamese National Assembly attended the opening ceremony of the Vietnam Culture Week in Iran, commemorating the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Iran (1973-2023).

The event, organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in coordination with the Vietnamese Embassy in Iran and several Iranian organizations, opened at the Tehran Capital Cultural Center.
Also attending from the Iranian side were the Iranian Minister of Culture and Islamic Orientation Mohammad Mehdi Esmaili; representatives of the diplomatic corps in Tehran; leaders of ministries and departments; and a large number of Vietnamese people and the general public in Tehran.
Leaders and delegates expressed their pleasure at attending meaningful cultural and artistic activities commemorating the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Iran; emphasizing that this is the best time for both sides to look back on the past 50 years and exchange views to determine specific directions and measures for the next stage.

Iranian Minister of Culture and Islamic Orientation Mohammad Mehdi Esmaili emphasized the prospect of further strengthening cooperation between the two sides in the fields of culture, arts, and film. Given Iran's growing role and position in West Asia and Vietnam's in Southeast Asia, as well as the immense potential for cooperation between the two countries, Vietnam-Iran relations are sure to see new developments in the future, commensurate with the potential of both sides, for the benefit of the people of both countries.
Minister Mohammad Mehdi Esmaili stated that the Iranian President and Iranian leaders personally wish to expand relations and exchanges in the cultural field, and the two countries' cultural ministries will consider signing a memorandum of understanding on comprehensive cooperation outlining specific areas for implementation in the near future.
The "Colors of Vietnam" exhibition and "Vietnam Film Week" in Iran aim to introduce to Iranian friends the beauty of Vietnam, with its attractive destinations, natural and cultural heritage recognized by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), and traditional craft villages with exquisite handcrafted products.
Overarching all of this is the image of a beautiful Vietnam and its people, integrating into the international community and developing dynamically, as a friend, a reliable partner, and an active and responsible member of the international community.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Dao Cuong said that through the exhibition, Iranian people can better understand Vietnamese culture and find similarities in the cultures of the two nations. This also serves as a bridge to promote exchange, cooperation and strengthen friendship between the people of the two countries.

The organizers stated that the exhibition space displays 70 photographs showcasing the beauty of Vietnam – a country of attractive tourist destinations, UNESCO natural and cultural heritage sites, a rich national culture, diverse customs and festivals, the beauty of the Vietnamese people and their spirit, with their love of work, will to succeed, optimism, openness, and gentleness.
