The moment the Vietnamese team lifted the ASEAN Cup trophy

The emotional moment when the Vietnamese national team celebrated lifting the ASEAN Cup 2024 trophy on the pitch in Thailand.

On the evening of January 5th, the Vietnamese national team won 3-2 at the Rajamangala Stadium in Thailand, thereby becoming champions of the ASEAN Cup 2024.

The team won the match with a final score of 5-3 and claimed their third Southeast Asian championship title in history.

This victory was not entirely complete as striker Xuan Son had to be rushed to the hospital in the middle of the first half due to injury.

In his absence, Quang Hai represented him to receive the top scorer award. In the ASEAN Cup 2024, Xuan Son scored 7 goals and provided 2 assists in 5 appearances.

Duy Mạnh accepted the Best Player award on behalf of Xuân Son.

This also marks coach Kim Sang-sik's first championship title with the Vietnamese national team.

Coach Kim Sang-sik and his team won the title with an unbeaten record (7 wins, 1 draw), a feat no other team has achieved in the tournament's 29-year history, not even Thailand.

The entire team will receive $300,000 (7.6 billion VND) from the Southeast Asian Football Federation (AFF) for winning this championship.

To date, the Vietnamese national team has received approximately over 20 billion VND in prize money from various organizations and businesses.
