This initiative is supported by the Schneider Electric Foundation and Schneider Electric Vietnam, aiming to improve the capacity of lecturers and students at vocational training institutions in Bac Ninh province in the fields of energy saving, environmental protection and sustainable development.
The project is developed based on the global program “Conserve My Planet” initiated by the Schneider Electric Foundation, approved by the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province and will be implemented from May 2025 to December 2026.
Mr. Richard Bernard, Chief Representative of Kenan Foundation Asia in Vietnam, said: “This is an important milestone marking the first time Kenan Foundation Asia has cooperated with agencies and units to implement projects to equip teachers and students with the necessary skills and knowledge to respond to current environmental challenges, contribute to the green transformation and digital transformation in Vietnam and train the future generation to act for a sustainable future.”
The project consists of three main components: Training for 110 lecturers and 10,560 students (first year, training for 50 lecturers and 6,200 students in Bac Ninh; second year, training for 60 lecturers and 4,360 students in Hanoi and Bac Ninh). Training topics include energy saving, renewable energy, electronic waste management, 3R model (reduce-reuse-recycle), and integrating environmental education into teaching methods.
In component 2, through practical training sessions, interactive activities and Green Energy Camp Day, students will have the opportunity to apply knowledge into practice and develop innovative solutions for the environment.
In component 3, a professional learning community (PLC) is established and maintained to exchange experiences between lecturers and experts, supporting the effective implementation of project-based learning models revolving around the topic of environmental protection suitable for the Southeast Asian context.

Mr. Doan Xuan Thanh, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Bac Ninh province emphasized: “We always attach importance to integrating environmental protection and renewable energy into the training program. Every year, the Department will direct vocational training institutions to review, adjust, develop and evaluate training programs in integrating these essential new issues. Equipping students with knowledge and skills to face environmental challenges in the future is extremely important.”
According to Mr. Dong Mai Lam, General Director of Schneider Electric Vietnam & Cambodia, this is an initiative aimed at equipping essential knowledge and skills to train a generation of young leaders to lead the green transition and contribute to a more sustainable future.
