Speaking at the Conference, Colonel Pham Le Xuan Binh, Commander of the Border Guard of Can Tho City, suggested that in the coming time, agencies and units continue to proactively grasp and accurately forecast the situation, promptly advise and effectively handle incidents, not to be passive or surprised in any situation; promote the leadership role and exemplary responsibility of the leader, strictly maintain working order and combat readiness, ensuring that the unit is always proactive.

Colonel Pham Le Xuan Binh emphasized the importance of political and ideological education, building internal solidarity and unity; enhancing the mettle and sense of responsibility of officers and soldiers in performing their duties; being proactive and flexible in handling situations of border management and protection, especially in fighting against all types of crimes, coordinating with local departments and branches to do a good job of propaganda against IUU fishing (illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing), at the same time, paying attention to building a strong unit in all aspects, creating a solid foundation to successfully complete all assigned tasks.

In 2025, the Party Committee and Command of the Border Guard of Can Tho City led and directed the comprehensive implementation of all aspects of work, successfully completing the task of protecting territorial sovereignty , national border security and building a strong force.

In the fight against crime and maintaining security and order, the unit has established and successfully fought 6 drug-related professional plans; prosecuted and initially investigated 8 cases with 8 subjects illegally storing and transporting drugs, confiscating more than 22.4 grams of Methamphetamine. At the same time, the functional forces prosecuted and investigated 1 case/4 subjects trafficking in people under 16 years old and 1 case of illegal cross-border transportation of goods, confiscating more than 822 liters of DO oil.

Border management and protection work was strictly maintained with 508 patrols on land and at sea, mobilizing 2,825 officers and soldiers to participate. The unit also performed well the search and rescue mission, successfully rescuing 3 vehicles and bringing 18 crew members safely to shore. In addition, the City Border Guard proactively advised the locality on solutions to prevent and combat IUU fishing and successfully organized the 2025 defense zone exercise.

The local Border Guard has effectively maintained outstanding models, helping to develop the socio-economy such as: "Border Spring warms the hearts of the villagers", "Helping children go to school", "Adopted children of Border Guard Station", "Zero-dong stall"... The total value of social security activities reached more than 2.5 billion VND, including the donation of solidarity houses, bicycles and hundreds of scholarships to poor students in coastal border areas.

On this occasion, the Border Guard Command awarded 2 collectives and 2 individuals; the City Border Guard Command awarded 7 collectives and 109 individuals for their excellent performance in their work and in the emulation movement "Determination to Win 2025".
