The Drug Administration of Vietnam, Ministry of Health has just sent a document to the Department of Health of provinces and centrally-run cities; Hospitals and Institutes with beds under the Ministry of Health; Drug production, import and trading establishments; Vietnam Pharmaceutical Enterprises Association; Vietnam Pharmaceutical Corporation - JSC on ensuring supply and strictly controlling the price of drugs to treat injured and sick people after storms.

The Drug Administration of Vietnam, Ministry of Health requires units to fully comply with regulations on drug price management, absolutely not taking advantage of the epidemic situation to speculate, hoard and unreasonably increase drug prices for profit.

Accordingly, to ensure drug supply and control prices of drugs to treat injured and sick people after storms, the Drug Administration of Vietnam requests the Department of Health of provinces and centrally-run cities to direct medical examination and treatment facilities, Centers for Disease Control and medical facilities in the area to urgently review and proactively purchase drugs in appropriate forms to ensure timely supply of drugs for treatment;

Do not allow a shortage of drugs to serve the medical examination and treatment of the people and strictly comply with regulations on retail surplus at drug retail establishments within the premises of medical examination and treatment establishments.

Direct pharmaceutical businesses in the area to ensure timely and sufficient supply of quality drugs to meet the needs of medical examination and treatment facilities and people; strictly implement regulations on drug price management, and not take advantage of the epidemic situation to speculate, hoard and unreasonably increase drug prices for profit.

Direct the Department Inspectorate to coordinate with relevant units to strengthen inspection and examination of pharmaceutical production, trading, and drug supply activities and strictly handle violations (if detected), especially cases of trading in drugs of unknown origin, drugs that do not ensure quality, and taking advantage of the epidemic to unreasonably increase drug prices.
