Inspecting the work of promoting learning, promoting talents, and building a learning society in Lao Cai

On the afternoon of July 25, a working delegation of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Association for Promoting Education, led by Comrade Do Thi Thin, member of the Standing Committee and member of the Central Inspection Committee of the Vietnam Association for Promoting Education, inspected the work of promoting education, promoting talents, and building a learning society in Lao Cai province.

Lao Cai is a mountainous border province with 25 ethnic groups living together, of which ethnic minorities account for 66.2%. Recognizing the important role of education promotion, in recent years, Lao Cai province has always paid attention to, directed and implemented programs, plans and instructions from the Central Government on education promotion, talent promotion and building a learning society, thereby achieving many important results.

Up to now, the system of Education Promotion Associations in the province has been built and developed extensively from the province to the grassroots level. The whole province has 9 education promotion associations at district, town and city levels; 152 education promotion associations at commune level; more than 209 thousand members in 1,868 branches and over 1,177 education promotion committees; the fund for education promotion activities of the province is over 14 billion VND.

The associations at all levels have synchronously deployed the mobilization and evaluation of the titles "Learning Family", "Learning Clan", "Learning Community", "Learning Unit" in the residential community and agencies and units... Timely commendation, reward, and encouragement of collectives and individuals, especially students, to continue to strive to excel in their studies, making an important contribution to sustainable educational development...

The leaders of the Lao Cai Provincial Association for the Promotion of Education proposed to the Central Committee of the Vietnam Association for the Promotion of Education a number of contents regarding the association's specialized staff, the set of criteria for evaluating and recognizing the title "Learning Citizen"...

At the working session, the Working Group inspected the implementation results of the contents of directives, decisions, conclusions of all levels, operating regulations, and the Association's Charter related to the activities of promoting learning, promoting talents, and building a learning society in Lao Cai province.

Speaking at the meeting, comrade Do Thi Thin, member of the Standing Committee, member of the Central Inspection Committee of the Vietnam Association for Promoting Education, highly appreciated the synchronous solutions to develop education and training, especially the results of learning promotion activities in Lao Cai province in recent times.

To effectively implement the work of promoting learning, talent, and building a learning society, he suggested that localities be proactive and flexible in propaganda work to replicate the models of "Learning Family", "Learning Clan", "Learning Community", "Learning Unit"; closely linking the construction of learning models with emulation movements in the locality. Continue to replicate the model of promoting learning, talent; improve people's knowledge, nurture talents; promote mobilization and development of learning promotion funds at all levels to expand the support objects, contribute to promoting learning, talent, and improve the quality of education in the area; build Lao Cai province into a bright spot in promoting learning, talent, and building a learning society in the northern mountainous region.

Previously, the inspection team visited Bac Ha district and Lao Cai city to work on promoting learning, talent, and building a learning society in the locality.
