Strengthening the members of the Steering Committee for key projects and important national projects in the railway sector

Specifically, the Decision to adjust the members of the Steering Committee for key works and important national projects in the railway sector in Clause 3, Article 1 of Decision No. 609/QD-TTg dated March 15, 2025 of the Prime Minister is as follows:

Comrade Tran Duc Thang, Acting Minister of Agriculture and Environment, Member of the Steering Committee replaces Mr. Do Duc Duy.

Comrade Nguyen Minh Vu, Permanent Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, member of the Steering Committee, replaces Comrade Nguyen Minh Hang, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Comrade Nguyen Van Phuc, Deputy Minister of Education and Training, Member of the Steering Committee replaces Comrade Hoang Minh Son.

Comrade Nguyen Ngoc Canh, Deputy Governor of the State Bank, member of the Steering Committee, replaces comrade Dao Minh Tu who has retired.

This Decision takes effect from the date of signing (October 21, 2025).

The Steering Committee for key works and important national projects in the railway sector has the tasks and powers to assist the Prime Minister in researching and proposing to the Prime Minister directions and solutions to resolve important, inter-sectoral issues to accelerate the implementation progress of important national projects in the railway sector: High-speed railway project on the North-South axis; Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong, Hanoi - Lang Son, Mong Cai - Ha Long (Quang Ninh) railway lines and urban railway projects in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City (referred to as the Projects).

At the same time, direct, inspect, coordinate and urge relevant ministries, branches and localities to carry out construction investment tasks in accordance with the Resolutions of the National Assembly and the Government for the Projects.

The Ministry of Construction is the standing body of the Steering Committee, develops the Steering Committee's operating regulations and submits them to the Head of the Steering Committee for signature and promulgation; assists the Head of the Steering Committee in developing the Steering Committee's work plan and program; prepares documents, reports and drafts of conclusions of regular or extraordinary meetings of the Steering Committee; synthesizes and reports on the Steering Committee's general activities and performs a number of other tasks assigned by the Head of the Committee.
