To date, 71 inspections and audits have been completed in various fields: financial and accounting management; construction investment management; land management and use... Through these inspections, irregularities totaling over 2.3 billion VND and over 1,400 m² of land have been discovered; recommendations have been made to recover over 1.8 billion VND and over 1,400 m² of land for the state budget, and to impose administrative fines on organizations and individuals exceeding 1 billion VND.
In particular, during the first six months of 2023, agencies and units in Kon Tum province detected and handled three cases with signs of corruption and negative practices. Specifically, the investigative police agency prosecuted one suspect for corruption at the Kon Plong District Agricultural Service Center (the case occurred in 2021); prosecuted one case with three suspects for violating regulations on compensation, support, and resettlement when land was reclaimed in Hoa Binh commune, Kon Tum city (the case occurred in 2022); and reopened the investigation into the embezzlement of assets and negligence causing serious consequences at the Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs Department of Tu Mo Rong District (the case occurred in 2013).
Currently, the investigative police agency is continuing to investigate four cases with signs of corruption, including: the bribery case at the Tax Sub-Department of Area No. 2 in Kon Tum province; the case of auctioning assets improperly and lax land management at Ia H'Drai Forestry Company Limited; the case with signs of legal violations at the land exploitation project for the villa area north of the center of Kon Plong district; and the case of land allocation and issuance of land use right certificates by the People's Committee of Kon Plong district.
