Speaking at the opening ceremony of the exhibition, Cuban Ambassador to Vietnam Rogelio Polanco Fuentes said: The exhibition “Loyalty and Love”, on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Cuba, is a meaningful event. This is a profound gratitude for the historical relationship between the two peoples, a relationship that has been forged over many generations and always preserved as a priceless treasure, becoming a shining example of international solidarity.
According to Ambassador Rogelio Polanco Fuentes, the exhibition “Loyalty and Love” is even more meaningful when it is held right on the occasion of the Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Year 2025. This is a special year, marking a series of historical events of the two countries, and witnessing many exchange activities in all fields and new steps in political , economic, social, cultural, trade, investment cooperation and many other fields.

Expressing gratitude to the Vietnam Women's Museum for selecting the images, posters and artifacts displayed at the exhibition, which recreated the typical milestones in the journey of cultivating the Vietnam-Cuba brotherhood, the Ambassador emphasized that both the Vietnamese and Cuban peoples are proud of the glorious history written by female heroes - who have made important contributions to the struggle for independence, national liberation as well as the construction and development of the country.
Among them, there are women who have left a deep mark on the friendship between the two countries such as: Cuban revolutionary heroine Melba Hernández - who led the movement to support Vietnam for many years and was also the first female Cuban Ambassador in Hanoi; female general Nguyen Thi Dinh - Deputy Commander of the Liberation Forces of South Vietnam, later President of the Vietnam Women's Union and President of the Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Association.
The exhibition consists of 4 parts, introducing more than 200 typical images, documents and artifacts, reflecting the general history of the special, comprehensive, united and loyal friendship between Vietnam and Cuba.
At the exhibition, many typical artifacts were introduced to the public for the first time, such as: The banner "A Melba with Fidel always doing revolution with Uncle Ho forever loyal heart" by Ms. Melba Hernández Rodríguez, former Cuban Ambassador to Vietnam, given on the occasion of her 75th birthday, July 28, 1996; propaganda posters by Cuban artists in the 70s of the 20th century, showing the enthusiastic support, solidarity and attachment of the Cuban people to the Vietnamese people...

Within the framework of the exhibition, there was an exchange and sharing program from people who have been attached to and have many profound memories with the country and people of Cuba: Director Nguyen Ha Tiep, one of the directors of the film "Two Hearts Beating Together" - a work recording the journey of the two countries and two peoples of Vietnam and Cuba; Mr. Manuel Enrique Montañé Enriquez, Deputy Factory Director at the Genfarma Pharmaceutical Joint Venture Company between Vietnam and Cuba. He is the grandson of Mrs. Melba Hernández Rodríguez, the first President of the Committee for Solidarity with South Vietnam (1963), the predecessor of today's Cuba-Vietnam Friendship Association; Ms. Phuong Song Lien, an international student at the University of Agriculture of La Habana (Cuba) and journalist Huynh Dung Nhan with the story about his father and special memories of his visit to Cuba.

At the event, there was also a ceremony to receive an artifact, a banner and a souvenir from the family of Mrs. Melba Hernández Rodríguez, donated by the Cuban Embassy in Vietnam to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Museum. This artifact is displayed in the exhibition “Loyalty and Love”, as a vivid demonstration of the spirit of international solidarity and the loyal relationship between the two countries of Vietnam and Cuba.
The exhibition “Loyalty and Love” is open to the public from December 5 at the Vietnamese Women’s Museum, 36 Ly Thuong Kiet, Cua Nam Ward, Hanoi.
